If you are in the fairly normal range to begin with, this may only be 5 pounds the first week. After the first few weeks it is recommended to not lose more than 2 pounds a week because if you start to lose more than that for a long time period, you will start to lose muscle mass along with fat, which is unhealthy. It is always better to go slow and steady than quick and unhealthily.
