What You’ll Need:

½ cup of salt

½ cup of baking soda

½ cup of water

¼ cup of vinegar

2-3 drops of regular Dawn dish detergent or your favorite. (I prefer Dawn because it seems to be the best, hands down, at combating grease.)

Wooden or plastic spoon

Glass or plastic mixing bowl

Spray bottle filled with warm water

Sponge

Scrubber

Mix It Up:

Step 1 – Mix together salt and baking soda in a bowl.

Step 2 – Add water, vinegar, and Dawn to baking soda and salt mixture. Stir to form a thick paste.

Usage:

Step 1 – Mist the inside of the oven with warm water using a spray bottle.

Step 2 – Using a sponge, spread homemade oven cleaner mix throughout the inside of oven.

Step 3 – Allow mixture to sit overnight. (Do not turn oven on.)

Step 4 - After sitting overnight, re-mist with plain warm water.

Step 5 – Scrub oven using a sponge or your favorite scrubber.

Step 4 – Wipe clean with plain water. Repeat until all traces of oven cleaner mix are gone.

No matter what you use or how you do it, oven cleaning is not a quick or easy task. However, with a little elbow grease and this homemade oven cleaner recipe, you’ll have yourself a sparkling clean oven, without the harmful chemicals and awful fumes.
