Ahhh….there’s nothing like a pleasant smelling home. I have been using this recipe for homemade fabric freshener for a few months and have grown to absolutely love it. For those who are trying to go totally “green”, you’ll probably want to skip this. For those who are taking baby steps and trying to be more frugal…read on.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup liquid fabric softener such as Downy
- 3 3/4 cup warm water
Directions:
- Fill a clean plastic spray bottle with 3 3/4 cup of warm water.
- Add 1/4 cup of your favorite liquid fabric softener.
- Shake well and spray, holding bottle at least 6 inches away from fabric.
Freshening Tips:
Again, because of the use of fabric softener, this homemade recipe is not considered non-toxic. Please use caution if using around children or animals.
Always spot test fabric in an inconspicuous area.
Fabric softener is also known to break down the flame retardants that have been added to clothes and upholstery.
Happy fabric freshening!
